Still I trolled the overridable properties of Dynamic Object and ended up adding the default overrides for the Equals and Try Convert methods. This should be true since this was a reference type and I was returning the same object......there's my problem...Sure enough, upon selecting a new item from the Combo Box, the debugger broke on "Equals." To my surprise, base. In my view-model, my data property looked like this: I quickly added that code as a test and never made a variable to hold the new Dynamic Proxy instance. What seems to be the issue is that the Selected Value/Selected Item is occurring before the Item source is finished loading. If I sit in a break point and wait a few seconds it works as expected. End Update I have an application using in WPF using MVVM with a Combo Box. The issue I'm having is when we leave our page and migrate back the Combo Box is not selecting the current Value that is selected. The combo gets the collection and I can change the values via the UI. Also, just an FYI, I have 4 collections which were populated by enumerations and I can set the Selected Item property just fine and it updates the UI.I also thought I should attach my Raise Property method and event, just in case it is of importance to my problem: Here is the event: Hi Stephen, Could you please try setting Selected Value instead of Selected Item? However, we will research further why Selected Item is not set correctly. All the best, Yana the Telerik team We finally got it figured out.Why Combo Box checks the variable instances to see if they are the same, i don't know, but since i look at what I did as bad code anyway, it doesn't really matter : P.Thanks, it's the Is Editable issue that is causing the problem for us - I wasn't aware of that specific behaviour.
I really didn't expect anything wrong with it since a Text Box bound to the same property would update the property without a problem.I have tried Selected Item, Selected Index, Text and nothing works for me.Here is my xaml: Here is my Web Service completed method, where I populate the Items Source (which works) and then I try to set the Selected Item (which doesn't update the UI, but my Selected Item raise property event does fire) This problem is driving me absolutely bonkers!I also tried setting up a binding to Selected Index, but that doesn't work either.Based on what I have read, I have this set up right.
